Who this guide is for
Anyone who promises to get back to customers and needs a nudge at the right time. It also suits shops, salons and coaches who want to remember regular customers' birthdays.
Before you start
- Chrome running at the reminder time. InboxCRM checks for due reminders about once a minute.
- Notifications for Chrome allowed in your computer's system settings, so the pop-up can appear.
- For birthday alerts: each contact's "Date of birth" saved on the "Contact profiles" page, opened from the extension popup.
- For automatic birthday messages: WhatsApp Web open and logged in.
Step by step

Open Notifications
Click "Notifications" (the bell icon) in the InboxCRM sidebar. The icon shows a badge with the number of reminders that are due.

Create a reminder
Click "New reminder". Fill in "Title *", "Description *", "Date *" and "Time *". Add a number in "Linked contact (phone, optional)" if it's about a customer, then click "Save".

Get alerted on time
When the time comes, the reminder is marked "Due" and Chrome shows a notification with its title and description.

Find reminders fast
Filter the list with "All", "Due", "Scheduled" or "Read", or use the search box to look through titles, descriptions and contacts.

Dismiss or tidy up
Click "Dismiss" once you've handled a reminder; it's then labelled "Dismissed". Use "Edit" or "Delete" on any reminder, and "Clear dismissed" to remove all handled ones.

Turn on birthday reminders
In the "Birthday reminders" card, tick "Active". Once a day, around 9:00 AM, InboxCRM checks contact profiles and creates a "Birthday" reminder for anyone whose birthday is today.

Write the birthday template
Edit the "Template" text, for example "Happy birthday, {{name}}!". {{name}} is replaced with the contact's name and {{date}} with their saved date of birth.

Choose notify or send
Leave "Auto-send message (otherwise notification only)" unticked to get a reminder only. Tick it to also send the template to the contact on WhatsApp.

Run the check manually
Click "Test fire now" to run today's birthday check straight away. It is a real run: with auto-send on, greetings go to contacts whose birthday is today.
Tips
- Start with auto-send off for a few weeks. Check the birthday reminders look right before letting messages go out.
- Avoid {{date}} in a customer greeting. It inserts the full date of birth, including the year.
- Link reminders to a phone number so you know exactly which chat to open when the alert appears.
- Each contact gets at most one birthday reminder per day, even if the check runs twice.
Troubleshooting
No pop-up appeared at the reminder time.
Make sure Chrome was running and that your operating system allows notifications from Chrome. The reminder still shows as "Due" in the list.
Birthday reminders never appear.
Check that "Active" is ticked and that contacts have a "Date of birth" in "Contact profiles". The daily check runs around 9:00 AM, so Chrome needs to be open then, or click "Test fire now".
The birthday greeting wasn't sent.
"Auto-send message" must be ticked, the template can't be empty, and WhatsApp Web needs to be open when the check runs.
Questions
Do reminders send anything to my customers?
No. Personal reminders only notify you. Only the birthday feature can send a message, and only when "Auto-send message" is ticked.
Where are reminders stored?
Locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) on your computer.

අද birthday check එක එවෙලේම run කරන්න "Test fire now" click කරන්න. මේක ඇත්ත run එකක්: auto-send on නම්, අද birthday තියෙන contacts ලාට greetings යනවා.
Tips
- මුල් සති කීපය auto-send off කරලා තියන්න. Messages යවන්න දෙන්න කලින් birthday reminders හරියට එනවද කියලා බලන්න.
- Customer greeting එකක {{date}} පාවිච්චි කරන්න එපා. ඒකෙන් අවුරුද්දත් එක්ක සම්පූර්ණ date of birth එක දානවා.
- Alert එක ආවම මොන chat එකද open කරන්න ඕන කියලා හරියටම දැනගන්න reminders phone number එකකට link කරන්න.
- Check එක දෙපාරක් run වුණත් එක contact කෙනෙක්ට දවසකට එක birthday reminder එකයි එන්නේ.

Reminder වෙලාවට pop-up එකක් ආවේ නෑ.
Chrome run වෙලා තිබුණද, ඔබේ operating system එක Chrome notifications allow කරනවද කියලා බලන්න. Reminder එක list එකේ තාමත් "Due" කියලා පෙන්නනවා.
