Free WhatsApp QR code generator

Create a QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with your business when scanned. Print it on menus, shop counters, packaging and flyers.
  • 100% free
  • No sign-up
  • Runs in your browser

Local format is fine. Start with + to type a number from another country.

Shorter messages make simpler QR codes that scan more reliably.

Enter a valid number to see your QR code.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to InboxCRM or stored.

How to create a WhatsApp QR code

  1. 1

Choose your country and enter your WhatsApp number.

  2. 2

Add an optional pre-filled message — keep it short so the code stays simple to scan.

  3. 3

Pick colours. Keep the code dark on a light background for reliable scanning.

  4. 4

Download a PNG for everyday use or an SVG for print, then scan it with your phone to test.

How WhatsApp QR codes work

The QR code contains a wa.me click-to-chat link. When someone scans it with their phone camera, WhatsApp opens a chat with your number, with your message ready to send.

Because the code only contains your link, it keeps working as long as your number is on WhatsApp — there's no subscription or redirect service behind it.

Tips for a QR code that scans first time

  • Print it at least 2–3 cm wide, and bigger if people scan from a distance.
  • Leave a clear margin around the code (the download includes one).
  • Use strong contrast: dark code, light background. Avoid light-on-dark and busy images behind it.
  • Add a short call to action next to it, such as “Scan to order on WhatsApp”.
  • Use the SVG file for print so it stays sharp at any size.

Frequently asked questions

Is the WhatsApp QR code free to use commercially?

Yes. The code is generated in your browser from your own wa.me link, and you can use it anywhere, including printed and commercial materials.

Will my QR code stop working?

It points directly to a wa.me link, not to a redirect we control, so it doesn't expire. It stops working only if the number is no longer on WhatsApp.

Is this the same as the QR code inside the WhatsApp Business app?

Both open a chat with you. This one lets you choose your own pre-filled message and colours and download print-ready files.

Can I add my logo to the QR code?

Not in this tool. Logos cover part of the code, so if you add one in a design tool, use a small logo and test scanning on several phones.
