Pinned chats: keep VIPs on top

What the tour covers, step by step

Stick your most important chats to the top of WhatsApp Web so they never get buried.

   What pinning does

   Chats you pin here float to the top of WhatsApp Web's chat list, most recently pinned first. It's separate from WhatsApp's own pin, and there's no limit on how many.

   Read the narration

   Pinned chats. WhatsApp lets you pin only a handful of chats, and they're easy to lose under new messages. InboxCRM keeps its own list: every chat you pin here floats to the top of WhatsApp Web's chat list, most recently pinned first, and there's no limit. It's completely separate from WhatsApp's own pin, and it only affects how the list looks on this computer — your customers never see anything. Practice copy, as always.

   Pin by number or id

   Type a phone number with country code, a full chat id (…@c.us) or a group id (…@g.us) and press Pin, or Enter.

   Read the narration

   To pin a chat, type a phone number with the country code — like this one for Maria — or paste a full chat id, or a group id for a WhatsApp group. Press Pin, or just Enter. Inside WhatsApp Web it's even quicker: right-click any chat in the list and choose Pin, or click the pin icon in the chat header. Both add the chat to this same list.

   Current pins

   Newest first. Each row shows the name from your contacts, the chat id, when it was pinned, and three icons: Open chat, Send test, Unpin. Groups get a 'group' pill.

   Read the narration

   Maria is now at the top of Current pins — newest first, exactly the order WhatsApp Web will show them in. Each row has the name from your contacts, the raw chat id, and when you pinned it. Groups carry a small 'group' pill. Three icons on the right: Open chat, which jumps to that chat in your WhatsApp Web tab; Send test; and Unpin. Search filters the list once it grows.

   Inside WhatsApp Web

   Pinned chats sit at the top of the list with a 📌 chip; the pin icon in the chat header fills green. Reordering happens live — no refresh needed.

   Read the narration

   Here's the effect in WhatsApp Web. Maria, the Studio group and Ahmed sit at the top of the chat list, each with a small pin chip beside any other chips InboxCRM shows — stage, notes, labels. Open a pinned chat and the pin icon in the header is filled green; click it to unpin. The reordering happens live as messages arrive, so your VIPs never slide down.

5. 05

   Send test sends a REAL message

   The paper-plane icon sends an actual WhatsApp message — '📌 Test pin from Extino' — to that chat, after a confirm. Use it only on your own number to check the connection.

   Read the narration

   One button deserves a warning. The paper-plane icon, Send test, sends a real WhatsApp message to that chat: the text is 'pin emoji, Test pin from Extino'. It exists so you can check that InboxCRM can talk to your WhatsApp Web tab. A confirm dialog appears first — read it. Only ever use it on your own number; a customer receiving 'Test pin from Extino' is not a good look. Cancel here.

6. 06

   Unpin one, or all

   The unpin icon removes a single chat from the list. 'Unpin all' in the header clears the whole list after a confirm. Unpinning only changes the order — nothing is deleted.

   Read the narration

   To remove a pin, use the unpin icon on its row. Unpin all, up in the header, clears the whole list after asking you. Either way, nothing about the chat itself changes — unpinning only lets it fall back into its normal place in the list. Pinning is one of those tiny features that pays off every morning: pin the five conversations you cannot afford to miss this week.

   Pin this week's five

   Open the real Pinned chats page and pin the five chats you must not miss this week. Never press Send test on a customer.
